My new Website

The last two months have been a mixture of blessings and turmoil. The blessings have come from some new learning about Website construction, and building one with my own ideas, and the turmoil has come from a disrupted cash flow that has made life rather challenging.

The structure of my Website http://shareandoptiontrading.com is now up and I am busy doing work to add more material and research onto the site. A few people have been looking at the site and making some suggestions to improve it. The theme is "Learning to Trade" and I will be doing reviews on products I use and recommend in the beginning. To make it pay I am developing Affiliate links and will be adding Asense material this week.

This post is to set up a link to my new site and more will be added later.

A New Start

After my disappointment in the visual appearance of the sites created using the templates provided in my package, and my frustrations with the communications, I began looking at alternative proposals. There have been small payments into my Adsense account but nothing to write home about. I also discovered that before I get paid (I'm not a US citizen) I have to lodge a Taxpayer Identification Number with the US government because Google will not pay out until all the paperwork is complete. As the joke goes, the job isn't over until the paperwork is done. This can take several weeks I'm told. Fortunately there is a tax treaty between our two countries.

I decided that I needed a basic course to build up my understanding of what I am trying to do. This is what I've been putting my time into the last few weeks, and I'm slowly constructing a site in which I will be offering my own product, an ebook. This is a much slower process because the ebook has to be created and the site designed correctly, but I am learning the basics. It is not ready yet and will take a bit longer before I can put it up. It builds on my personal interests in Share and Option Trading that has occupied some of my time in the last few years.

I also discovered a useful forum, for beginners like me, called Webmaster Tips and Tricks Forum when trying to solve some technical difficulties. The link is below.

http://www.wtricks.com/forums/

Making mistakes and then learning from them is hard, but you learn the lessons more thoroughly.

In the last few weeks there has been a lot of activity on the web, with many proposals and counter proposals being put forward about Adsense, and whether it is going to continue to make money for people as it has in the past. I had picked up these views from reading posts about Google changing its policies, and I had asked the question, whether this was going to affect what I was doing. Then suddenly there is all this activity putting forward different strategies. Working out which one to follow is interesting. It's a bit like surfing, if you miss the wave you can miss out because your timing is wrong.

Since I've been surfing the net looking for ideas I've encountered many people who have established "names" for themselves in the Internet Marketing business and are promoting their strategies, software and progams. If you had bottomless pockets you could spend a fortune if you took up all the offers. I'm now receiving stacks of promotional emails from many of them, but the promise of instant money is an illusion like the mirage in the desert. I think it is a learning curve and it takes time and work effort to achieve success, but you must keep your goals clearly in mind and not give up. Persistence and determination are essential to success.

Some of the alternative ideas I found sounded attractive but were outside my budget at present because of my current commitments. But they do use the principles that I have been learning over the last few weeks.

One offer that was low cost, and proved to be value for money when I investigated it, was Dan Kelly's Minisites. I'm working through his information in parallel with my other project and find that as I do, I learn more. He offers two options, the first is a free viewing by streaming video to teach you how to set it up and the second is a download of the material to your computer for a charge to your credit card to enable you to build your own sites using his material. He offers two levels of affiliate commission depending on which option you choose. There are a lot of files to download and it does take time, but I think they are worth the small investment and it is helping me understand more about internet marketing at the basic levels. If you want to look at this then here is the link.

Another offer that was released last week that is also a low cost (relative to what I paid for my original program by the guru's) is Joel Comm's Instant Adsense Templates. When I checked out what was being offered in this package, and the quality of the templates etc, it made my present sites look even more low grade than what I had initially thought. Because this is the strategy that intially attracted me to generating an income on the Web, I succumbed, and it is now on my credit card and I'm waiting for the package to arrive in the mail. I will try it out and see if I can improve my sites and the cash flow from them. The link below will take you to Joel Comm's offer. Compared to anything else, I've seen this is value for money.

I've just received the email saying my package is being dispatched. It should arrive before the end of October on past experience.

I'll let you know how things work when they are implemented. One thing is for sure I've got plenty to keep me occupied for the next few months.

August Update

I've been very busy the last couple of weeks doing research for my websites and working to get them constructed and up. Unfortunately, I've run into a technical hitch that is causing some frustration. The response from Support via emails is proving very slow because we are on opposite sides of the world and out of phase with each other. I will solve the problems and learn a lot in the process, but it would be less frustrating if it all went according to the instructions. My daughter has been a help in working through some of the technical side of things, bu there are issues that she has not been able to solve either.

Amazingly I've found a person through Skype (or more correctly he found me) that may well prove to be a great help. He builds websites and has software that can be of great assistance to the less technically skilled like myself. He is going to send me information on his software and a business proposal to assist him to promote his software here in Australia. He is like a gift from God at precisely the right time and I thank him for it.

Art Prints for YOU - First project working

The first website project using the No Limits No Excuses program is now on the Net. I now have to work at improving it as I follow the program. It is not quite what I expected but it is a start. I'll learn more as I go along developing it.

There are two more projects in construction.

Although I have a background in Business Education at the tertiary level, this is a new experience for me, as I seek to develop a completely new range of skills in e-Commerce, particularly Marketing. It is also allowing me to develop some personal interests that I was not able to do in the "JOB - Just Over Broke" situation. I believe that a good business strategy, when nurtured and developed, is able to provide a much better income than what you can earn in employment. The problem is how to get established for most people. The opportunities available to people today are astounding, and encouraging them, particularly the youth, to explore their own creativity and build their own business based on faith in themselves and their unique and individual talents is my goal.

The problem facing most people is the mental barriers that we developed as children. This is usually because we learn at the subconscious level from our own parents, and we pass on to our children the same mental barriers we received from them. Fortunately today their is much wider opportunity for children to learn from other sources, and children are encouraged to dream their own dreams. It reminds me of the quotation, "I dream my paintings, then I paint my dreams." (Vincent Van Gogh) This should be encouraged in everyone, because each is a unique, talented individual who has their own contribution to make to the world.

Other Ideas being Explored

Affiliate Marketing

I 'm also looking at other suggestions to building an income from On line business strategies. This includes Affiliate marketing for other peoples products and establishing my own sites to market products that I've researched and decided to promote.

One of the Affiliate promotions is Jim Daniels New Age Work at Home Plan that I am using to learn how to develop my own strategies. If you are interested in obtaining a free copy of this report then go to the link below and click on the GOLD Key and you will be able to download it for FREE.

FREE Work At Home GUIDE for our visitors!

A Future Project - To develop a Website using a dropshipping strategy.

This is currently being researched to find a product, or range of products, and then to establish the relationships with a suitable dropshipper. All this is taking more time than I anticipated but I am learning as I go. I anticipate I will be able to do it faster when my skill levels increase.

There are many different ways to generate an income on line an learning these strategies is essential if you are to be successful. Many promises are made in the huge amount of promotional material that is available but it does not happen instantaneously. It takes both thought and work effort. The only place where "success" comes before "work", that I know of, is in the dictionary. So more application is required to get the ball rolling.

If anyone wishes to share additional ideas to create income streams, that are ethical and beneficial to others, then please add your suggestions. I am happy to assist in their promotion.

Learning More Share Trading Strategies

Last Saturday I joined my share trading mate, Joe, attending another promotional seminar on new Share Trading Strategies. This proved very interesting as it provided some new ideas that we will explore this week. The course they were promoting is undoubtedly a good one but it is outside the income stream at present. I find that there is always more to learn about the trading and investment business, but you are only learning at the margins based on your previous knowledge and experience. I now feel very comfortable about investing and trading over the longer term, but in the short term time frame it is trickier and learning to read the signals correctly and to act on them appropriately in a mechanical and unemotional manner is the key to success. I'll will be doing more short term trading as my own income builds.

We will be joining the Bulls and Bears again this week and have two more speakers to learn fom their knowledge and experience.

Bulls and Bears Platform and Building Websites

Bulls and Bears Platform

After a second look at this trial platform I discovered that it can access the US markets as well as the other major Markets, but it is set up differently to the other version provided by Sonray Markets called Spectrum Live. The difference appears to be in the headings across the screen. I may find some other variations as I use it.

Building Websites

Haven't made much progress since the last post as other commitments had to be done, but I'll get back to it tomorrow. I did take up the offer of a free ebook from Jim Daniels who has successfuly established his own work from home business, and have also established an affiliate link with his website. If anyone is interested in the free ebook to build a work at home business then follow this link and click on the gold key.

You can then download the free ebook for yourself. My first impressions are that it gives good advice for anyone starting out with the intention to create additional income from home.

Visualisation, seeing the end in the beginning

What I have found applicable to both share trading and business building is the visualisation concept, or changing your mindset to become successful at what you are doing. In Share trading I was introduced to the Born Rich concepts of Bob Proctor, and The Science of Getting Rich by H. Wattles. When I began looking at Websites and building an Internet business, Psychocybernetics by Maxwell Maltz was mentioned in material from Jeff Paul, Jim Fleck and Shawn Casey, and again in an interview with Brian Tracy. It cropped up again on the weekend when I read Mental Fitness for Traders by Ken Hallett. I have already written out my goals, but I'm now planning on redoing them and filling in more detail, with the sole purpose of clarifying the sub conscious image I hold in my mind, following the ideas put forward from the different sources mentioned. I will be reviewing them periodically as well.

It all reminds me of another quote from my past reading that Confucious says "A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step."

More thoughts next time.

Share Trading and Building Web sites

It has been a busy week so far with reading and listening to tapes from No Limits No Excuses on how to construct websites, watching a webinar on Share Trading and trialling new trading software.

Yesterday was focussed on extending my share trading knowledge when I watched the Webinar provided by Options University. John Person demonstrated his share trading software using Pivot Point analysis. It was very impressive and he claims that it is more effective than any other system for predicting price movements. It has been recorded and I'll watch it again when it is available. As usual there was a sales offer of the combined package of the training and software. The quality of the education that the Options University provides is very high and they keep providing more educational opporunities beyond the Options Trading with which they started. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone interested in extending their trading knowledge. Clicking the link below will take you to them.

http://tinyurl.com/knedl

I downloaded the Bulls and Bears trading software yesterday and looked through it last night. The trial version only gives access to the ASX CFD's and not to the US market. I'll follow up to make sure the full version can access everything before committing to an account with them. It is basically the same as the Sonray version except for the lack of access to the US market.

Today was spent putting all the pieces together to build a website. I know it is taking me longer to do it than it should take, but some of the steps have been a source of frustration because they have not worked out as expected. I went back to the beginnning, because I was having trouble defining suitable niche markets using keywords. Part of the problem is that Yahoo has taken over Overture, and they seem to have created a Catch22 when it comes to going beyond getting the keywords and determining the bids for each click.

Their video instructions sound fine until you come to do it and it doesn't work. This has been a major source of delay as I persisted trying to find a way around the problem. At this point I'm not prepared to pay the US$199 to have them do it for me. Needless to say the research is not as sound as I want it to be. However I'll press on and see if I can get something working. I registered three domain names and set them up with the Hosting company and have worked my way through the website instructions this evening. It is not finished but getting there at last. I've got to work on the page templates tomorrow.

Bulls and Bears

I attended a seminar session of the Bulls and Bears Traders at the Harbord Diggers Club today with my trading mate Joe. I'd given them my email address at the last Investors and Traders show and received an email inviting me to attend their seminars. We went along to see whether it was worthwhile and got a pleasant surpise. Two good speakers, and found an interesting group of people who are developing a Traders/Investors group that can provide training at much lower costs than the entrepreneurs charge for Education and Training. We both decided that the fee was well worth it for the opportunities available. This included the lowest cost platform for CFD trading we've come across and it can be free for an extended period (more than twenty days) while you are learning how to work it with paper money.

The second speaker gave a very good presentation on the current stockmarket position looking at the major drivers, Gold, Oil and Interest Rates. He covered this from both the Fundamental and Technical Analysis viewpoints.

We also listened to one of the Jeff Paul CD's on "accurate thinking", which is another perspective on the ideas of Norman Vincent Peale, Napoleon Hill, Bob Proctor, and Maxwell Maltz. In the last few years since I became interested in Share Trading these ideas keep coming up and the "message" is I need to do something about it. So I'm now writing out my goals in the form suggested and will be reviewing them and improving on them continuously as part of the process of changing my self image and achieving goals. Changing the mindset is the key to success!!

On the Website development I now have a much clearer idea of what I'm trying to do and it is coming together. Got to finish it off this week.
